Gain clarity about the types and levels of disability coverage to offer.
For many organizations, a group disability plan is a foundational aspect of their overall benefits program. However, as with other employee benefits, the level of coverage that works for one employee may not work for another. In fact, there can be a fairly sizable gap between long-term disability benefits for workers, and how those benefits translate to executives and senior employees with earnings above a certain salary threshold. And, while group disability and individual disability can help fill certain gaps — including things like income replacement, taxability, and incentive pay — it’s difficult to determine how well this type of coverage supports employees in need.
