For more than 30 years, the insurance industry has been Evelyn’s professional home. Today, her experience and leadership is vital to everything that happens at Durham & Bates.
“I started off with a part-time accounting position, and took it upon myself to learn as much as I could as quickly as possible. Soon, I was providing services directly to clients.”
Today, Evelyn’s work supports individuals, along with a number of small businesses and non-profit organizations.
While the details of her work demand and receive a great deal of attention, Evelyn remains one of the firm’s most personable professionals—a fact that her clients appreciate.
“It can be challenging to stay on top of the many things that need my attention. But, no matter what’s going on in the weeds, I always try to make connections with the people I’m supporting.”
In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys being with her grandchildren and her dogs. While some excursions take her to the wilderness or the coast, others find her happily roaming the aisles of Powell’s bookstore in downtown Portland.
